It is completly incomprehensible to me how people can be so cruel to animals and treat them as they do. The mistreatment, malnutrition, torture, and emotional abuse that animals are subjected to just astounds me. Would people be so quick to treat another human being as such? Well as a matter of fact if you look at the murder and child abuse rates that have risen over the years, I guess they would. This is what scares me, if someone is unwilling to treat a human as a living creature, what is to make us think that they are going to treat an animal with any higher standards since most view animals as inferior, or worthless? This type of abuse, and way of thinking needs to stop. We need to do more to educate children (which is usually where the violence towards animals is born) as to the end results of such behaviors.
