Princess is exactly that, my little princess. She is the best cat ever. I love her so very much. She is currently with me right now and has brought so much joy to my life.
Princess came into my life along with her Mother and her brother one day when I was visiting my friend's apartment. Outside sat two older cats, her and her brother. They were so adoreable, and every day we sat outside spending time with them, feeding them. Once again my heart went out for another stray. Since I did not have my apartment yet, I could not take her in my home yet, but I was soon to be movig into an apartment in that same complex. I was going to take in her and her brother. I could not take in the two older cats since that was just way too many cats, but I thought if I could give the two little ones a better life then it would not be as bad.
One day after I had moved in I went to the apartment to get the kittens and Princess was the only one there. Her brother was no where to be found. I have not idea as to where her brother was, so I took her home with me. I did not know if he had been killed, taken into a home or what. But I certainly did not want anything to happen to her.
The first night in my apartment, Princess was not too sure about it, but over time she grew to love it. She always wanted to fall asleep in my lap, and was very affectionate with me. At that time I did not have any furniture in my apartment yet so we would fall asleep on the floor together. She brought so much joy into my life that I had lacked at that time. She was my "roomie"!!! LOL Every day I came home she would greet me at the door and that was such a great feeling!!
She loved to play in the tub and toilet drinking water, and I could never go into the bathroom with her being in there also. When I took showers she would wait for me to get out of the shower by sitting on the toilet. She liked to lick the water from the tub after I was done. Yes she is a wierdo!! LOL But I love her!!
One thing that she does that is really wierd to me, but is probably from her being a stray is that whenever she eats her food she has to act as if she is digging. I don't know why she does this but it can get a bit annoying because she gets food all over the place!! LOL Her good habits though is that she never scratches anything. I have a scratch post that sits on the floor, that she really likes. She loves it when I get a new one because there is cat nip on it, and she absolutly loves cat nip!!
Over time she started to go into heat, but since I did not have much money I was not able to spay her, so she started peeing everywhere, I guess to mark her territory, and when I moved into the apartment it got worse. One day she got out, and I knew that I was in trouble. I knew she was going to be coming home pregnant, and she sure did. I dreaded that fact that I would have to find homes for all of the kittens, but as she got closer to giving birth I was getting excited to have some new kittens in the home.
Finally the day came, and Princess gave birth the day before my Birthday!!What a great Birthday gift!! (She could have waited another day though!! LOL) I did not know that she had given birth either. The only reason that I knew was because she walked out and looked skinnier. I should have known that she was going to give birth though because she was being very affectionate the night before, and I had seen some blood from her, but I was not thinking. That night underneat my bed she gave birth, and I did not even know it!! She was so quiet!!
I went around the house trying to find where she had given birth, and I could not find the kittens. Finally I looked under my bed and found a single orangish/tanish and white kitten. He was so tiny!!!!! I could not believe how tiny he was. I looked for more kittens but I could not find any. She had only given birth to one kitten!! I could not believe it, and I was so happy too, because then I did not have to find homes for kittens because I could just keep him. After a long time I finally decided to name him Dutch. I could not name him Prince since that was not a name that I wanted, but I wanted some type of Royalty type name to keep a theme. Could not name him Dutchess, or Duke (that is a dogs name) so I finally decided on Dutch. I thought it was cute!!! More on Dutch on his page.
Princes is now spayed, and I don't have to worry about that anymore!! Princess is a wonderful mother and she is so happy to have some company. I am happy she has some company as well!! They playfight all the time!! I love my Princess!!!
